Breaching, blowing, paddling. The paddling was us, but the rest of the noise was from the approximately 80 whales in the Walker Bay Sanctuary.
This time of year (from July through December), there are no boats or vehicles other than kayaks allowed in the bay off the coast of Hermanus. It was absolutely incredible! Real ocean swells had our sea kayaks bobbing and thrashing so there were no real photo opps.
Ross, you'll have to trust me. In addition to whales mating, playing, and breaching... we saw some penguins swimming and seals performing water ballet!
